An ensemble of artists and friends, the story of the Bellavente Wind Quintet begins in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Jose and Chicago and weaves its way through some of the finest universities and music conservatories of our nation and onto the concert stages of the San Francisco Bay Area. The Bellavente musicians met while pursuing their passion and love of classical and contemporary music and performing this music with leading and cutting edge chamber music ensembles and symphony, opera and ballet orchestras of San Francisco and its environs. |

The Bellavente Wind Quintet illuminates the concert stage with music that ranges from sensitive poignancy to bold and daring drama to bubbling humor that has rarely been heard by most audiences. Bellavente joins familiar classical music of old with the freshness and excitement of contemporary music. The listener is fascinated and entertained with a range of material covering four centuries of great music written by both men and women composers and includes contemporary and historical original works for wind quintet and interesting and important arrangements that have made a strong contribution to wind quintet repertoire. The lighter side of Bellavente includes a rich repertoire of classical pops. This flexible ensemble can sound like a symphony, a park band, a church organ or a Broadway orchestra. Their charm, wit and artistry are evident with every musical phrase. |

Bellavente released their first CD "Jewels of the Night" in 2003. "Jewels" has music that is rich in melody and harmony and sets a relaxing mood. “fine rendition...quite lovely…first rate… warm ambience & clear sound great ensemble playing” TAXI A&R Review, February 2004 Parlor music of Mozart and salon music of French composers Maurice Ravel and Francis Poulenc was chosen as well as two beautiful movements from a Quintet written by Marie Louise Simon under the pen name of Claude Arrieu. The lovely music of French-American composer Darius Milhaud and two classics from American composer George Gershwin complete the musical ambience. |

Educational Concert Programs
The musicians of the Bellavente Wind Quintet have extensive experience performing educational programs for in-school concert series and companion family concerts. Bellavente was selected to be the resident woodwind quintet for the 2004-2005 and the 2006-2007 San Francisco Symphony Adventures in Music program (AIM) where they perform 140 concerts each year for San Francisco school children.
Bellavente musicians have performed as members of Women's Philharmonic Woodwind Quintet, the Twin Pines Woodwind Quintet, Golden Gate Brass and the Fog City Winds under the auspices of San Francisco Symphony Adventures In Music, San Mateo County Arts Council, Young Audiences, Music at Kohl Mansion and numerous other concert promoters.
Programs are developed in conjunction with the goals of the sponsoring organization to illustrate particular musical concepts from the mechanics of the instruments (acoustics: it's science!) to the elements of a piece of music (music theory that smiles) to the joys and giggles of being a musician. Presentations are full of wit, energy and enthusiasm.
