Things To Think About

Musician Info

  • What time do you want the musicians to start and stop playing?

  • Where can the musicians park and unload their instruments and music stands?

  • Where do you want the musicians to sit and play for the ceremony:  up front, on the side, in the back?

  • Is formal concert black the appropriate dress for the musicians?

  • Who will the musicians' contact be the day of the wedding?

  • Do you want music before the ceremony?  If so, what type of music?

  • What music do you want played for the processional and recessional?

  • Do you want special music played for the, bridesmaids, during the ceremony or a rose exchange?

  • Do you want special religious music played?

  • Do you want music played for the reception or cocktail hour?

  • Will the musicians move to another location for the reception?

  • Each musician needs to be provided with a chair with no arms.

  • The musicians bring their own music stands.

  • If the wedding is outside, the musicians must sit in a shady, level spot, protected from moisture.

  • If the wedding is inside and there is not adequate lighting, the musicians will bring music stand lights for reading the music and need access to electricity.

  • When the musicians arrive for the wedding, the leader of the musicians needs to confirm musician seating with the wedding coordinator before they setup and then talk with the officiate about the order of the ceremony.
